A chip is a small, often circular, area where a piece of the bathtub’s surface has broken off. Chips are usually caused by impact from hard objects, such as dropping a heavy item into the tub. They typically affect only the outer layer of the bathtub material, creating a noticeable defect but not penetrating deeply. Generally, chips aren't larger than a quarter, but if they are, they would be considered a Level 3 repair.
